Cetaphil® In the News

Every month, Cetaphil® receives mentions in the media from people and professionals, dermatologists and doctors who use or recommend the Cetaphil® line of cleansers and moisturizers. Here are some of the highlights:

September 2008

  • Wish you could peek into the beauty cabinets of celebrities? Cosmopolitan magazine gives you a chance with their “Beauty 100”—a roundup of the top product picks from 100 of Tinseltown’s brightest stars. Novelist, screenwriter and daughter of former VP Al Gore, Kristin Gore submitted Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser as her pick, saying “cheap and easy - good criteria for dates and cleansers, and neither my husband nor Cetaphil has ever let me down.”
  • You don’t have to be an on-the-go actress like Taraji Henson to appreciate a fuss-free beauty routine. In the September issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine, Taraji declared that Cetaphil® Daily Facial Cleanser is the perfect product “for those who like to keep it basic.”
  • Dermatologist Leslie Baumann, M.D. and the beauty gurus over at Real Simple magazine agree: “no matter what your skin type, moisture is important.” Their advice is that those with dry skin should help “seal in water” by applying a moisturizer with SPF. One product they suggest is Cetaphil® Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 “once a day, right after cleansing.”
  • Family Circle magazine consulted the best beauty experts around to bring its readers the cream-of-the-drugstore-crop, and guess which cleanser came out on top? Dermatologist Oscar Hevia, M.D. of their expert panel chose Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser: “this classic won’t irritate even the most sensitive [skin] types.”
  • Easy does it! Woman’s World magazine asked dermatologist Gene Rubinstein, M.D. to weigh in on facial cleansing, and he cautioned that “blemish-prone women are tempted to scrub zits away, but over cleansing can make acne worse.” A better option? Use a “gentle cleanser” like Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser.
  • The October 2008 edition of Marie Claire had an article titled “Don’t be so sensitive!” offering “soothing solutions” for skin, since “skin sensitivity is on the rise.” The article mentions the Cetaphil® brand as one of the “sensitive-skin friendly formulas” available.
  • After the nearly 50,000 votes were cast by beauty-savvy shoppers just like you, the winner was clear! Glam.com’s 2008 Beauty Awards named Cetaphil® Daily Facial Cleanser reader’s choice for best cleanser and Cetaphil® Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 reader’s choice for best face moisturizer. Now that’s a clean sweep!

July/August 2008

  • It’s never too early to start thinking about prom! That’s why the beauty know-it-alls over at Elle Girl magazine recommend starting your beauty routine off right with Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser, a “rich cleanser that protects your skin from moisture loss as it gently washes away dirt and oil.”

  • Justine magazine knows that skin care can be stressful, but, with their back to school skin care guide to creating a “clear canvas,” it doesn’t have to be! The experts over there chose Cetaphil® Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 as the right way to moisturize acne-prone skin. That’s you—1; zits—0!

  • Want a product that’s “safe enough for daily use”? Then try Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser, Prevention magazine’s choice for a “remedy for dryness brought on by harsh anti-wrinkle treatments.”

  • What’s the “low-cost beauty secret” that screen star Natalie Portman relies on? According to E! News, it’s Cetaphil® Daily Facial Cleanser—perfect for when you feel “greasy and grimy after a day at the beach.”

  • Feeling the itch of summertime bug bites? On a recent Good Morning America segment, Dr. Jeanine Downie recommends smoothing on some Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion “as a moisturizer before you go to bed at night” followed by an antihistamine to help reduce the urge to itch.

  • If the tight economy has you pinching pennies on your beauty buys, then there’s good news—Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion offers real bang for your buck! Victoria Kirby, beauty editor at Allure magazine, recommends this “dermatologist favorite” and “drugstore classic” for total-body hydration on a budget.
